Nyandia Gachago on Building, Leading and Growing on Her Own Terms

—

Through Minty Line and Minty Academy, the Kenyan entrepreneur is helping brands and creatives use artificial intelligence to work faster, scale confidently and compete in a rapidly changing world.

Entrepreneurship has given Nyandia Gachago something she values deeply: the freedom to establish a vision and move quickly enough to bring it to life.

As co-founder of Minty Line, an AI creative agency operating brands across Africa, the United States and the United Kingdom, Nyandia works at the intersection of creativity, technology and business growth.

She is also building Minty Academy, an AI-literacy and creative-development academy that teaches brands, business owners and creatives how to use artificial intelligence to expand their capabilities and scale their work.

Her entrepreneurial journey reflects a new way of building—one in which speed, adaptability, collaboration and family do not have to compete with one another.

Setting the Vision

For Nyandia, one of the greatest advantages of entrepreneurship is having the authority to determine where a brand is going.

Traditional organizations can become slowed down by established structures, lengthy approval processes and systems that were not designed for rapid technological change.

Running her own businesses gives Nyandia and her team greater freedom to experiment, make decisions and adjust their direction when new opportunities emerge.

“The best part about being my own boss is the capacity to set the vision for the brands and move quickly,” she explains.

That ability is especially valuable in artificial intelligence, where tools and possibilities can change within a matter of weeks.

Rather than waiting for older systems to catch up, Minty Line can test new technology, study emerging data and incorporate useful tools into its work. This agility allows the agency to respond to changes faster and help its clients do the same.

Helping Businesses Understand AI

Artificial intelligence has created excitement, but it has also created uncertainty.

Many business owners understand that AI is becoming important without knowing which tools to use, how to introduce them responsibly or where the technology can create meaningful value.

Minty Line helps close that gap by combining AI with creative strategy.

The agency uses technology to support the development and growth of brands operating in different markets. Its international reach across Africa, the United States and the United Kingdom gives the team experience working with varied audiences, industries and cultural contexts.

Nyandia does not view AI as a replacement for creativity. She sees it as a resource that can help creative professionals work more efficiently, explore ideas and build at a scale that might otherwise be difficult to achieve.

The goal is not simply to use the newest tool. It is to understand how technology can support a wider business vision.

Building AI Literacy Through Minty Academy

Minty Academy extends that mission through education.

The academy teaches brands, brand owners and creatives how to use artificial intelligence more effectively. Instead of allowing people to remain intimidated by the technology, it helps them develop the knowledge and confidence required to participate in the changing digital economy.

This work matters because access to AI tools does not automatically create useful results.

People must learn how to communicate with the technology, evaluate its output, connect different applications and integrate the tools into existing business processes. They must also understand where human judgment, cultural knowledge and creative direction remain essential.

Through AI literacy and creative education, Minty Academy is preparing entrepreneurs and professionals to move beyond experimentation and begin using technology strategically.

For African creatives in particular, this knowledge can help reduce barriers to production, accelerate learning and make it easier to serve clients beyond their immediate markets.

Technology Behind the Businesses

Technology is not only something Nyandia teaches. It is central to how both Minty Line and Minty Academy operate.

The organizations use Google Workspace across several areas, including their websites, cloud storage, email communication and artificial-intelligence workflows.

Other AI platforms and integrations support their work, but Google remains a key part of the infrastructure connecting the agency and the academy.

This digital foundation makes it easier for team members to communicate, manage information and work across different locations.

For an organization serving multiple markets, that connectivity is essential. Ideas, files and feedback must move efficiently between people—even when those people are working in different countries or time zones.

Nyandia’s approach demonstrates that digital transformation is not only for large corporations. Smaller agencies and growing businesses can also build strong technology systems that allow them to operate internationally.

Creating a Business Around Family

Entrepreneurship also gives Nyandia greater control over how she organizes her time.

She can begin work at 7:30 in the morning and, when the workload permits, leave the office at 3 p.m. That flexibility allows her to remain present for her children—something she considers one of the most meaningful benefits of building her own company.

Her experience challenges the idea that professional ambition and motherhood must exist in permanent conflict.

The flexibility does not mean the work is easy or that responsibilities disappear. It means she has greater authority to design a working structure that reflects both her business goals and the kind of mother she wants to be.

For many women, that ability to shape time is as valuable as the freedom to shape the company itself.

Success is not only about how widely a business expands. It is also about whether the life being built makes room for the people who matter.

Collaboration Over Isolation

Although Nyandia values independence, she does not believe entrepreneurship should be a solitary undertaking.

She describes herself as a committed collaborator, noting that approximately 90 percent of her friends are also agency owners. Rather than treating one another only as competitors, they regularly collaborate on projects.

Minty Line’s office is also located within an ecosystem of agencies—a deliberate environment that encourages shared ideas, complementary expertise and collective problem-solving.

Nyandia believes people can create something larger when they work together than any one organization could build independently.

That philosophy is especially useful within the creative economy. One agency may excel at brand strategy, another at production, another at technology and another at distribution. Collaboration allows each participant to contribute their strongest capabilities while giving clients access to more complete solutions.

It also creates a community in which entrepreneurs can exchange knowledge and adapt together as their industries change.

Moving Faster Than Change

The defining quality of Nyandia’s leadership is adaptability.

Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, and no business can rely permanently on one tool, platform or way of working. What produces an advantage today may become standard tomorrow.

Nyandia’s response is to remain curious, keep learning and build organizations capable of changing direction without losing their purpose.

Minty Line applies that thinking to creative work. Minty Academy passes the knowledge to other brands and professionals. Collaboration expands what the two organizations can accomplish, while digital systems help connect their work across borders.

Together, these elements form a modern entrepreneurial model built around vision, learning and movement.

Building on Her Own Terms

Nyandia Gachago’s story is not simply about using artificial intelligence.

It is about building a business that reflects her values.

She wants the freedom to establish a bold vision, the speed to act on emerging opportunities, the flexibility to remain present for her children and the community to create something greater through collaboration.

At Sisi Kenya Media, we celebrate entrepreneurs who are not waiting for the future to arrive before preparing for it.

Through Minty Line and Minty Academy, Nyandia is helping brands and creatives understand that AI does not have to be something that happens to them. With the right knowledge, systems and imagination, it can become a tool they use to shape what comes next.

Her journey offers a powerful lesson for today’s founders: building on your own terms does not mean building alone.

It means knowing your vision, moving with intention and finding the right people with whom to create something bigger.
