Flaqo has opened up about why he reclaimed the Nissan Note worth KSh 650,000, which he had gifted his ex-girlfriend, Winnie Keranta, on her 22nd birthday. According to the comedian, the car was legally registered in his name, and that’s why he couldn’t leave it behind after their breakup.
“The car was under my name, so there was no way I could just leave it. It was simply a convenient gift to my girlfriend at the time — there’s no ‘ex’ in that equation; once it becomes an ex, it’s an X,” he explained during an interview with Oga Obinna.
Flaqo went on to say that when he presented the car to Keranta, he did so with the belief that their relationship was serious and destined for marriage. The vehicle, he noted, was meant to be part of their shared future. However, when the relationship came to an abrupt end, he felt it was only fair to reclaim what was his and fully close that chapter of his life.
He further clarified that he only took back the car and left behind all other gifts he had given her, emphasizing that his decision was purely practical and not out of spite.
Flaqo and Keranta made their relationship public in February 2023 after dating privately for three years.
